I have had trouble with the inspiration to write lately, but something occurred to me tonight that I thought might help others.

I’ve been playing around with doodling my prayers. I doodle as I pray and I color it in. Sometimes I get an idea and I draw an outline that I color in as I pray. It’s a way to express myself and to take time as I pray.

I’m also working on the 8th step. I’m working out of a book called ‘The 12 Steps for Christians.’ As I read, it talked a lot about forgiveness. The 8th step, for those who don’t know, is that we make a list of people we have harmed and become willing to make amends to them all.

When the book spoke of forgiveness, there was a paragraph that singled out a few ways we can forgive. There were three. Those are:

  1. Turn the other cheek.
  2. Love our enemies.
  3. Pray for our persecutors.

I immediately drew the word forgiveness and circled it. I wrote the 3 items individually circled and connected them to the word ‘forgiveness.’ It’s when I went to color it that I realized…that the items put together just might work as a formula for forgiveness. I haven’t tested it yet, but that’s how I’m going to approach it for now.
